| Dr. Glen D. Nelson was a member of Medtronic, Inc.'s (NYSE:MDT) Board of Directors from
1980 until 2002, and Vice Chairman from 1986 until his retirement from Medtronic in
2002. During his tenure at Medtronic, Dr. Nelson had operational responsibility for all of
the business units except Cardiac Rhythm Management. He was also responsible for
Mergers and Acquisitions, Science and Technology, Business Development, Clinical and
Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance.
Prior to joining Medtronic, Dr. Nelson practiced surgery from 1969 to 1986, and was Chairman, President and CEO of Park Nicollet Medical Center, a large multi-specialty group practice. Dr. Nelson serves as a
Director on several companies, including DexCom™, Inc., Carlson Holdings, Inc., St. Paul
Companies, MinuteClinic Corp., LifeLinkMD, and Advanced Biosurfaces, Inc.
He has a bachelor of arts degree from Harvard University and a doctor of medicine degree from
the University of Minnesota. |
