If you do experience any discomfort, try holding an ice pack on the area where you are going to insert the Dexcom sensor. This may reduce the discomfort. Ice has an anaesthetic effect by constricting blood vessels and reducing the nerve’s ability to send pain signals. DO NOT hold the ice pack directly on the skin. Make sure you wrap in thin cloth.
Dexcom has not tested the use of any medical pain-relieving creams or sprays with its products.
