To use your Dexcom system with a new smart device, you first need to stop your sensor session on your current device.

Yes, you get Follow notifications when the app is closed.

Setting Up Sharing and Dexcom Clarity
How do I know when Dexcom Clarity has been updated?
For every release, a notification banner is posted at the top of the Dexcom Clarity on the day of the release.
Does Dexcom Clarity have information about my receiver or smart device?
You have the option to use only the app, only the receiver, or both at the same time.
Where can I obtain a printed version of the Dexcom Clarity user guide?
The Clarity User Guide can be found and printed from the Clarity Help menu. Your local Dexcom representative can also provide a printed copy.
Will Dexcom Clarity work with G6?
Yes, G6 does work with Clarity. Patients will not need to register again. If you are already sharing with your clinic, the clinic will not need to reconnect.
Changing Your Sensor and Transmitter
How long does the Dexcom G6 transmitter last?
Your transmitter is covered under a limited warranty for three months, starting from the shipment date.
How long does the G6 transmitter last?
A G6 transmitter lasts for three months (same as G5 Mobile).
Can I use the G5 Mobile sensors with the G6 transmitter? Or any G5 Mobile components?
No, the G5 Mobile sensors, transmitters and receiver are not compatible with the G6 system.
Is Dexcom creating a recycling program for the sensor applicator at launch?
At this time, Dexcom will not have a recycling program. Dexcom recommends that users dispose of the used applicator following local guidelines for blood containing components.

Do I need to use my receiver?
You have the option to use only the app, only the receiver, or both at the same time.
Is there a new app for the G6?
Yes, the Dexcom G6 app will be available for free download in the Google Play and Apple App Stores. The Dexcom G5 Mobile App will not work with a G6 System and vice versa.
Why does the G6 Android app ask for Location Permission?
We understand you may be concerned about granting this permission, but Dexcom does not use this permission to track your location.

Calibration and Accuracy Issues
Does the G6 accept calibrations?
The option to enter calibrations was included to allow a user to manually calibrate the system in case the start-up calibration code is lost.
Using Your Sensor and Transmitter
Do I have to put the sensor code in every time I start a new sensor?
Yes, you’ll need to put in the sensor code from the sensor each time you start a new one.
Where can I insert my G6 sensor?
Just like G5 Mobile, approved sensor insertion sites are on the belly (age 2 years and older) or the upper buttocks (ages 2-17 years).
I lost my sensor code. What do I do?
Without your sensor code, you’ll need to calibrate twice after your 2-hour sensor warmup is complete, a third time 12 hours later, a fourth time 12 hours after that, and then once every 24 hours.
Can the sensor be restarted after 10 days?
No. The new Dexcom G6 CGM system is designed to eliminate the need for fingerstick calibrations* and can be used for 10 days without restart.
Using the Dexcom CGM App
Are there any changes with alarms and alerts?
When you start a new sensor, you must enter a code into your display device to use the G6 without fingerstick calibrations.
How do I share my glucose data with the S Health app?
Apple Health is a health and fitness tracking app included on Apple devices (iOS 8+). You can share your glucose data with Apple Health. Health gets the information after a three-hour delay, not in real time.
How do I share my G6 glucose data with followers?
Dexcom Share is a feature within the G6 app that allows for remote monitoring.

What components are required with the new G6 system?
A new Dexcom patient will receive the Dexcom G6 system including a–transmitter and sensors.
Who Can Use Dexcom CGM?
Is this product approved for Pediatrics?
Yes, Dexcom G6 is indicated for children as young as 2 years old.

The Dexcom G6 is the latest generation of CGM available from Dexcom.

How do I access past data from Dexcom STUDIO?
At this time, there is no mechanism to import the data from Dexcom STUDIO into Dexcom Clarity.
Inserting and Starting Your Sensor and Transmitter
What is the difference between Shutdown and Stop Sensor?
The Shutdown option powers down the receiver and acts as an on/off button, temporarily turning off all communication between your transmitter and receiver during a sensor session.
What is a sensor code and why do I need one?
When you start a new sensor, you must enter a code into your display device to use the G6 without fingerstick calibrations.

Can I view my Dexcom CGM data on an Android Wear watch?
Yes, you can check your CGM on your wrist! The Android app supports Android Wear watches to discreetly view your glucose reading, trend arrow, and trend graph.
Can I view my Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System data on an Apple Watch?
Yes, you can check your CGM information on your Apple Watch!
How do I set up Siri on the G6 app?
With the Dexcom G6 app version 1.9 and later, you can ask Siri to recite your Dexcom glucose readings out loud and display your graph directly on the lock screen.
Software Updates
How soon will Dexcom support new operating system (OS) versions after they are released?
Dexcom tests all apps on new OS versions, including public betas, after the OS is released.
Troubleshooting (CLARITY/Studio Reporting Software)
What does the hour glass icon mean?
This icon means the transmitter and the sensor are not communicating.
Who should I contact if I have questions regarding Dexcom Clarity?
Please contact your local Dexcom representative.
What does the Transmitter Low Battery alert mean?
The transmitter battery is low and needs to be replaced.
What do the Question Marks (???) mean?
The question marks mean that the transmitter does not understand the sensor readings for the moment.
Troubleshooting (Using Your Dexcom CGM)
What does the Signal Loss alert mean?
The Signal Loss alert tells you when your receiver or smart device is not communicating.
What does the "Bluetooth is off" alert mean?
The “Bluetooth is off” alert means this function is turned off. Bluetooth must be on in order to get glucose information on your device. Refer to your smart device guide to turn on your Bluetooth.
Understanding Data and Trends
How do I get a recap of my last 24 hours on my smart device?
Turn your smart device sideways. The landscape view lets you see up to the last 24 hours of sensor readings and, if you entered Events, your Event markers.
How are the Daily and Hourly Statistics calculated?
Daily statistics are calculated values for the individual day of the week over the date range selected.
How far back can I access my data in Dexcom Clarity?
All data uploaded to Dexcom Clarity will remain accessible as long as the product is available for use.
Using Your Receiver
What is the status area?
The status area is located in the upper right corner of your receiver screen. This area alerts you to calibration updates, calibration errors and sensor glucose reading issues.
