Dexcom CGM and Tandem t:slim X2 Insulin Pump products now funded for eligible Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) clients
1st July 2023
Dexcom Inc. (Nasdaq: DXCM), a global leader in real-time continuous glucose monitoring for people with diabetes, and its Australian subsidiary Australasian Medical and Scientific Ltd (AMSL Diabetes) are excited to share that AMSL Diabetes has been successful in their application to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) in providing fully funded diabetes products including Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) and Tandem t:slim X2 Insulin Pump systems to eligible DVA clients. This will fall under the contract for mobility and functional support (MFS) and home modification products and services.
As of the 1st July 2023, changes to contractual arrangements with eligible DVA clients will streamline the process for healthcare professionals to prescribe contracted diabetes products for eligible DVA clients. Clients can order their diabetes supplies directly through contracted suppliers (Aidacare, Allianz Global Assistance, The Country Care Group and BrightSky), rather than the previous process which saw clients contact DVA’s Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP), or obtain diabetes products via the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS).
Contracted diabetes products will be available for DVA clients who are Gold or White card holders (with diabetes as a DVA accepted condition).
A number of AMSL Diabetes products are now listed as contracted items and can be ordered, fully funded, for eligible DVA clients:
- Dexcom CGM, including the Dexcom G6 CGM system and the G6 Sensor Overpatch
- Tandem t:slim X2 Insulin pumps plus consumables (including accessories, cartridges and infusion sets)
- HypoPak Fast-Acting Glucose
For our current Dexcom, Tandem t:slim X2 and HypoPak users who are also DVA clients, we recommend speaking to your healthcare professional to see if this update is relevant to you and to discuss next steps in accessing funded products via this DVA scheme.
