Setting Up Sharing and Dexcom Clarity

How do I know when Dexcom Clarity has been updated?

For every release, a notification banner is posted at the top of the Dexcom Clarity on the day of the release. Follow the banner's link to read the release notes. If the Uploader software is updated, the notification banner posts 2 weeks before the release.

Does Dexcom Clarity have information about my receiver or smart device?

Under the Devices section of Dexcom Clarity's Overview page you will find the alert settings and last upload for the device. These settings are for your reference and are separate from Dexcom Clarity settings.

Can I use both a receiver and smart device with Dexcom Clarity?

It is possible to use both a smart device and a receiver to provide CGM data. The smart device system streams data to the Clarity server, where that data is made available for reports after three hours.

Where can I obtain a printed version of the Dexcom Clarity user guide?

The Clarity User Guide can be found and printed from the Clarity Help menu. Your local Dexcom representative can also provide a printed copy.

Who should I contact if I have questions regarding Dexcom Clarity?

Please contact your local Dexcom representative.

Why is the Stop Sensor option disabled?

The Stop Sensor option is not available because the sensor has not been started. When you are in a sensor session, Stop Sensor will be available. Once you have stopped a sensor session, you will have the option to start a new sensor session.

What do the Question Marks (???) mean?

The question marks mean that the transmitter does not understand the sensor readings for the moment. You will want to wait a minimum of 3 hours for them to clear. If they do not clear within that time frame, please contact your local distributor for assistance.

What does the Transmitter Low Battery alert mean?

The transmitter battery is low and needs to be replaced. When you receive this message, your transmitter may drain as quickly as one week. If you do not already have a transmitter, you need to order a new one.

Compatible Software and Apps

What are the computer and software requirements for Dexcom Clarity?

A broadband network connection of 1.5 Mbps or more is required to install the software from the web, upload data or view the online User Guide.

Exporting and Sharing Reports

How do I access past data from Dexcom STUDIO?

At this time, there is no mechanism to import the data from Dexcom STUDIO into Dexcom Clarity. Data stored in Dexcom STUDIO will continue to be viewable within Dexcom STUDIO.

Using Your Receiver

What is the difference between Shutdown and Stop Sensor?

The Shutdown option powers down the receiver and acts as an on/off button, temporarily turning off all communication between your transmitter and receiver during a sensor session. You will not get sensor glucose readings and it will not extend the life of your sensor.

How can I share my data using a Dexcom Receiver?

If you upload your receiver to the Clarity home user account, you can share your home user account data with your health care provider.

Entering your Transmitter SN into your Dexcom receiver

The transmitter SN is a series of numbers and/or letters that can be found in the following locations: On the transmitter box label. On the bottom of the transmitter.

What is the status area?

The status area is located in the upper right corner of your receiver screen. This area alerts you to calibration updates, calibration errors and sensor glucose reading issues.

Understanding Data and Trends

How do I get a recap of my last 24 hours on my smart device?

Turn your smart device sideways. The landscape view lets you see up to the last 24 hours of sensor readings and, if you entered Events, your Event markers.

How far back can I access my data in Dexcom Clarity?

All data uploaded to Dexcom Clarity will remain accessible as long as the product is available for use. When logging in to Dexcom Clarity for the first time, there will be limited data depending on when the account was created. Going forward, data will continue to build as it is uploaded to Dexcom Clarity.

Why is my trend arrow missing?

The trend arrow tells you the speed and direction of your glucose level.When there is no arrow, it means more glucose readings are needed to establish your trend. This often occurs when you start a new sensor session. Your trend arrow should display after a few readings.

Troubleshooting (Using Your Dexcom CGM)

What does the "Bluetooth is off" alert mean?

The "Bluetooth is off" alert means this function is turned off. Bluetooth must be on in order to get glucose information on your device. Refer to your smart device guide to turn on your Bluetooth.

What does the Signal Loss alert mean?

The Signal Loss alert tells you when your receiver or smart device is not communicating. This may occur if you (and the transmitter) are too far from your display device or something is blocking your transmitter signal, causing you not to get sensor glucose readings.

How soon will Dexcom support new operating system (OS) versions after they are released?

Dexcom tests all apps on new OS versions, including public betas, after the OS is released.

Can I view my Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System data on an Apple Watch?

Yes, you can check your CGM information on your Apple Watch! The Dexcom G6 app supports Apple Watch and can be used to discreetly view your glucose reading, trend arrow, and trend graph. Use the digital crown to scroll the trend graph view between 1, 3, or 6 hours of data.

How do I set up Siri on the G6 app?

With the Dexcom G6 app version 1.9 and later, you can ask Siri to recite your Dexcom glucose readings out loud and display your graph directly on the lock screen.This feature is only compatible with iOS devices using iOS 13 and above and supported Apple Watches and watchOS.

How do I display my Home screen?

The Home screen is the main screen of the receiver.If the receiver is displaying a blank screen, simply press the center (or Select) button to turn the display on to the Home screen. If the receiver is in a menu, press the left button repeatedly until you display the Home screen.
