Setting Up Sharing and Dexcom Clarity

Does Dexcom Clarity have information about my receiver or smart device?

Under the Devices section of Dexcom Clarity's Overview page you will find the alert settings and last upload for the device. These settings are for your reference and are separate from Dexcom Clarity settings.

Where can I obtain a printed version of the Dexcom Clarity user guide?

The Clarity User Guide can be found and printed from the Clarity Help menu. Your local Dexcom representative can also provide a printed copy.

How does Dexcom Clarity get my data?

The smartphone system sends data to the Dexcom server, where that data is made available for reports.

Will events entered into my CGM receiver show up in Dexcom Clarity?

Any event that is entered into your CGM will show up on Dexcom Clarity graphs when your data is updated from your Dexcom Mobile CGM System or you upload your receiver to Clarity.

Changing Your Sensor and Transmitter

Is Dexcom creating a recycling program for the sensor applicator at launch?

At this time, Dexcom will not have a recycling program. Dexcom recommends that users dispose of the used applicator following local guidelines for blood containing components.

How long can I wear the sensor?

The Dexcom G6 sensor is approved to be worn up to 10 days.

How long does the Dexcom G6 transmitter last?

A G6 transmitter lasts for three months (same as G5 Mobile).

Why does the G6 Android app ask for Location Permission?

We understand you may be concerned about granting this permission, but Dexcom does not use this permission to track your location.

How do I set up the Dexcom G6 with my phone?

The Dexcom G6 app has to be downloaded and is different from the Dexcom G5 Mobile app.

Calibration and Accuracy Issues

Does the G6 accept calibrations?

The option to enter calibrations was included to allow a user to manually calibrate the system in case the start-up calibration code is lost. The system is designed to work properly without calibrations.

Using Your Sensor and Transmitter

Do I have to put the sensor code in every time I start a new sensor?

Yes, you'll need to put in the sensor code from the sensor each time you start a new one. The sensor code is found on the bottom of the applicator on the adhesive strip.

I lost my sensor code. What do I do?

Without your sensor code, you'll need to calibrate twice after your 2-hour sensor warmup is complete, a third time 12 hours later, a fourth time 12 hours after that, and then once every 24 hours.

Where can I insert my G6 sensor?

Just like G5 Mobile, approved sensor insertion sites are on the belly (age 2 years and older) or the upper buttocks (ages 2-17 years).

Can the sensor be restarted after 10 days?

No. The new Dexcom G6 CGM system is designed to eliminate the need for fingerstick calibrations and can be used for 10 days without restart.

Using the Dexcom CGM App

How do I share my G6 glucose data with followers?

Dexcom Share is a feature within the G6 app that allows for remote monitoring.

Who Can Use Dexcom CGM?

Is this product approved for Pediatrics?

Yes, Dexcom G6 is indicated for children as young as 2 years old.

Exporting and Sharing Reports

How do I access past data from Dexcom STUDIO?

At this time, there is no mechanism to import the data from Dexcom STUDIO into Dexcom Clarity. Data stored in Dexcom STUDIO will continue to be viewable within Dexcom STUDIO.

Inserting and Starting Your Sensor and Transmitter

What is a sensor code and why do I need one?

When you start a new sensor, you must enter a code into your display device to use the G6 without fingerstick calibrations. Each sensor has its own code printed on the back of the adhesive patch.
