Discover the all-new Dexcom G5 Mobile Continuous Glucose Monitoring System

The Dexcom G5TM Mobile Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System is our latest technology. If you get a generic prescription for CGM, we recommend that you offer your patient the most recent technology, the Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System. However, if you do get a prescription specifically for the Dexcom G4® PLATINUM System with ShareTM, we have product information to help you below.

CGM unveils what no meter can. While meters give a number for a single point in time, CGM provides dynamic glucose information by showing where glucose is, where it’s going, and how fast it’s getting there.* With the new Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System your patient can monitor their glucose directly on their compatible smart device.

Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System consists of three parts1:

1. Small Sensor that measures glucose levels just underneath the skin.

2. Transmitter that is fastened on top of the sensor and sends data wirelessly to a compatible smart device or receiver.

3. A Display Device which can be a compatible smart device with the Dexcom G5 Mobile app OR the Dexcom G5 Mobile Receiver. Either choice of display will show glucose trends in vivid colors so your patient can easily see when they're high, low or within range.

Flexibility of Two Monitoring Devices

Although the Dexcom G5 Mobile is a fully-mobile platform, a Dexcom CGM receiver is part of the system1. This gives your patient the freedom to monitor their glucose data on a compatible smart device or by using the Dexcom G5 Mobile Receiver.

Receive High and Low Glucose Alerts on a Mobile Device

With the Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System, your patient will be alerted directly on their compatible smart device when they're heading too high or too low. Alerts and alarm sounds can also be customized to appear as a text message, allowing for additional discretion and privacy.

Sample the high and low alerts below:

Please note the following:

  • Remove the Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System (sensor, transmitter, and receiver) before Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT) scan, or high-frequency electrical heat (diathermy) treatment. The device is MR Unsafe.
  • The system hasn’t been tested during MRI, CT scans, or with diathermy treatment. Magnetic fields and heat could damage the components, stopping sensor glucose readings or Alarm/Alert notifications. Without sensor glucose readings or Alarm/Alert notifications, you might miss a severe low or high glucose event.
  • Taking medications with acetaminophen (such as Tylenol® or Excedrin Extra Strength®) while wearing the sensor may falsely raise your sensor glucose readings. The level of inaccuracy depends on the amount of acetaminophen active in your body and is different for each person.
  • The Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System or the Dexcom G4 PLATINUM CGM System with Share does not replace your blood glucose (BG) meter.
  • When making treatment decisions, such as the amount of insulin you need, only use your BG value. Don't use sensor glucose readings from the Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System or the Dexcom G4 PLATINUM CGM System with Share because readings can be different from your BG value. If sensor glucose readings are used in determining treatments, it could result in you missing a severe low or high glucose event.

The Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System was not evaluated, nor approved for the following persons:

  • Pregnant women
  • Persons on dialysis
