Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) tracks glucose levels throughout the day and night and can alert you if your levels go too high or low.

Common Dexcom CGM Questions

Can I take Paracetamol whilst wearing my Dexcom CGM?

Whilst wearing your Dexcom CGM System, you can take a standard of maximum paracetamol/acetaminophen does of 1 gram (1000mg) every 6 hours and still use the sensor readings to make treatment decisions.

Can Dexcom sensors be calibrated and optional calibration?

All Dexcom products can be calibrated, but not required. All our systems are designed to work properly without calibrations. Calibration is therefore an optional function.

What material is the Dexcom filament and insertion needle made from?

The Dexcom insertion needle in all of our products is made of 304 stainless steel which includes 10% medical grade nickel.

What is the difference between a Dexcom CGM sensor glucose reading and blood glucose value (BGV)?

Dexcom CGM systems measure the glucose levels in the interstitial fluids just beneath your skin. Blood glucose meters measure glucose levels in your capillary blood.
