Using the Follow App
Does the Follow App work with G6?
Yes, the Follow App works the same way as it did with the Dexcom G5 Mobile. New followers - Download the Dexcom Follow app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Existing followers - The Dexcom Follow app is the same so there is no need to download it again if it�s already installed. However, Followers must be re-invited by the Sharer in the G6 app to start following again.
What is Dexcom Follow?

Why was I asked to update my Dexcom Follow app?
The latest Follow release contains important updates to the app that improve user experience and enable Dexcom to better serve its customers.
What devices and software are compatible with Dexcom apps?
Check Dexcom's compatibility chart before updating your smart device or mobile operating system (OS). Dexcom tests its apps for compatibility on new OS versions after they're released.
Setting Up Sharing and Dexcom Clarity
How are ranges defined for Time in Range?
Time in Range is the percentage of time that glucose levels are in low, target and high ranges. Dexcom Clarity displays time in range from both daytime and nighttime ranges. Each Dexcom CGM reading is compared against the custom glucose target range and assigned a category of High, In Range, Low, or Urgent Low. Readings are tallied, then percentages for each category are calculated.
How can I customize Dexcom clarity?
In Dexcom Clarity, use the Settings page to customize data display and sharing. Changes only apply to Dexcom Clarity and do not change any settings on your Dexcom CGM system. Changes made in Settings by a healthcare professional during a clinic session only apply during the session.
How are the Daily and Hourly Statistics calculated?
Daily statistics are calculated values for the individual day of the week over the date range selected.
How do I get to Dexcom Clarity?
Go to https://clarity.dexcom.eu from an internet browser with internet connection. Review Clarity�s list of computer and internet requirements if needed.
Changing Your Sensor and Transmitter
How long does the Dexcom G6 transmitter last?
A G6 transmitter lasts for three months (same as G5 Mobile).
Is Dexcom creating a recycling program for the sensor applicator at launch?
At this time, Dexcom will not have a recycling program. Dexcom recommends that users dispose of the used applicator following local guidelines for blood containing components.
Setting Up Your Smartphone or Receiver
Why does the G6 Android app ask for Location Permission?
We understand you may be concerned about granting this permission, but Dexcom does not use this permission to track your location. �
Do I need to use my receiver?
You have the option to use only the app, only the receiver, or both at the same time.
Is there a new app for the G6?
Yes, the Dexcom G6 app will be available for free download in the Google Play and Apple App Stores. The Dexcom G5 Mobile App will not work with a G6 System and vice versa.
What are the recommended G6 iPhone settings?
Your phone settings can prevent the Dexcom G6 app from working. Learn more about the settings that will allow your app to work as expected.
Calibration and Accuracy Issues
Does the G6 accept calibrations?
The option to enter calibrations was included to allow a user to manually calibrate the system in case the start-up calibration code is lost. The system is designed to work properly without calibrations.
Using Your Sensor and Transmitter
I lost my sensor code. What do I do?
Without your sensor code, you�ll need to calibrate twice after your 2-hour sensor warmup is complete, a third time 12 hours later, a fourth time 12 hours after that, and then once every 24 hours.
Do I have to put the sensor code in every time I start a new sensor?
Yes, you�ll need to put in the sensor code from the sensor each time you start a new one. The sensor code is found on the bottom of the applicator on the adhesive strip.
Can the sensor be restarted after 10 days?
No. The new Dexcom G6 CGM system is designed to eliminate the need for fingerstick calibrations* and can be used for 10 days without restart. *If your glucose alerts and readings from the G6 do not match symptoms or expectations, use a blood glucose meter to make diabetes treatment decisions.
Where can I insert my G6 sensor?
Just like G5 Mobile, approved sensor insertion sites are on the belly (age 2 years and older) or the upper buttocks (ages 2-17 years).
Using the Dexcom CGM App
How do I share my G6 glucose data with followers?
Dexcom Share is a feature within the G6 app that allows for remote monitoring. One person, (the Sharer) may share their CGM data with another person (the Follower). To setup Share simply press the Share icon in the app and follow the onscreen instructions. *Requires separate Follow App and internet connectivity.
How do I set up Siri on the G6 app?
With the Dexcom G6 app version 1.9 and later, you can ask Siri to recite your Dexcom glucose readings out loud and display your graph directly on the lock screen.
Are there any changes with alarms and alerts?
The �Urgent Low Soon� alert is a new alert that can warn users in advance (within 20 minutes) of a severe hypoglycemic event (55 mg/dL or 3.1 mmol/L) � allowing them time to take appropriate action before an event happens. The �Alert Schedule� allows users to customize a second group of alerts. A common use case would be users who want to set different alert schedule for day time vs night time.
Who Can Use Dexcom CGM?
Is this product approved for Pediatrics?
Yes, Dexcom G6 is indicated for children as young as 2 years old.

Can I view my Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System data on an Apple Watch?
Yes, you can check your CGM information on your Apple Watch! The Dexcom G6 app supports Apple Watch and can be used to discreetly view your glucose reading, trend arrow, and trend graph.

What are the computer and software requirements for Dexcom clarity?
A broadband network connection of 1.5 Mbps or more is required to install the software from the web, upload data or view the online User Guide.�
