If your phone is running Android 12, the G6 app needs Nearby Device Permission to use your phone’s Bluetooth to locate, pair, and continuously communicate with your Dexcom transmitter.
This is a new app permission Google added in Android 12 and replaces the Location Permission. The Nearby Device Permission is available in Dexcom G6 Android app 1.10.0 and above.
To continue using the app:
1. Open the G6 app after getting the App Stopped Alert
2. Tap Help on the home screen
3. Tap Next
4. Tap prompted, tap Allow
5. If you go back before allowing the permission, you’ll see the below prompt. Go to app settings and allow permission.
After allowing Nearby Device Permission for the G6 app, you can continue using the app.
