How does prime detection work?
When you turn on Prime Detection, the app will record primes separately from injected doses. The app looks at the timings, and doses to identify when a dose is a prime, and when it is an injected dose.
• When the app detects a small dose just before a second dose, it logs the first small dose as a prime.
• If several small doses are given shortly before a larger dose, it will log these as multiple prime doses.
• You can set both the dose you use as a prime, and also the maximum time before an injection, you would perform a prime.
For example
You dial up 2 units as a prime at 9am and within a couple of minutes you dial up another 8 units, it will log the first dose as a prime and the second as your injection. (app settings - Prime Dose 2 units / Timing 5 minutes)
If you dialled up 2 units as a prime and saw no insulin on the end of your needle and needed to dial up another 2 units as a prime, it would record both as prime doses if you have give your 8 unit injection all within the 5 minutes.
