Why does Dexcom require a user under 18 years old to use a dependent account?

Dexcom requires anyone creating an individual account to accept our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy when signing up. These are agreements that serve as contracts, and in Canada contracts cannot be accepted by minors.
Since the Dexcom G6 system is indicated for ages 2 years and older, we need caregivers to create an individual account first to accept these agreements and then create a linked dependent account for the minor customer.
