Where can I insert my Dexcom G7 sensor?

Dexcom G7 sensors may be inserted on:
  1. The back of the upper arm.
  2. The abdomen (not indicated for pregnant women).
  3. The upper buttocks (ages 2-6 years old only).
Our research shows that back of the upper arm wear results in optimal performance*. Sensor placement is important, and you should change your insertion site with each sensor. Using the same site too often might not allow the skin to heal, causing scarring or skin irritation. Using the overpatch included with you G7 sensor can help ensure your sensor will remain in place for the duration of the wear session.
Choose a site:
  • At least 3 inches (8 centimeters) from any insulin pump infusion set or injection site
  • Away from waistbands, scarring, tattoos, irritation, and bones
  • Unlikely to be bumped, pushed, or laid on while sleeping
Follow the Dexcom G7 product instructions. If you have any questions regarding sensor insertion, placement, or otherwise, please refer to the Dexcom G7 product instructions for additional information.
