Why is the Dexcom G7 Apple Widget displaying "---" and not my glucose number?

The widget changes for different situations, such as these:
  • “ ---”: Displays where there's no sensor reading available. The operating system limits the number of times a widget can be updated each day. When the widget hasn't updated as expected, it will show ”---” instead of a sensor reading and there will be a gap in the trend graph.
  • No Alerts banner and “---”: Displays when there's an alert that prevents you from seeing a sensor reading, such as Signal Loss. There will be a gap in the trend graph.
To open the G7 app, just tap the widget. This will direct you right to the Dexcom G7 App to get your glucose reading when the widget is showing "---".
