A new Dexcom patient will receive the Dexcom G6 system including a transmitter and sensors. An optional touch screen receiver is available as well. If you decide to use a compatible smart device*, you will need to download the new Dexcom G6 app.

What components are required with the G6 system?

Dexcom CGM systems measure the glucose levels in the interstitial fluids just beneath your skin. Blood glucose meters measure glucose levels in your blood.

The Dexcom G6 is Dexcom&#x27;s latest generation continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system. Unlike previous generations, this CGM system is factory-calibrated so zero fingersticks are required.

What is the Dexcom G6?

Where can I purchase Dexcom G6?

Go to clarity.dexcom.eu from an internet browser with internet connection. Review Clarity&#x27;s list of computer and internet requirements if needed.

How do I get to Dexcom Clarity?

The Dexcom G6 app has to be downloaded and is different from the Dexcom G5 Mobile app. It is available for free from the Apple App or Google Play stores.

How do I set up the Dexcom G6 with my phone?

Yes, Dexcom G6 is indicated for children as young as 2 years old.

Is this product approved for Pediatrics?

Your Dexcom CGM App supports a useful feature called a Today view that is accessed by swiping from the top or left edge of the screen. You can check your CGM information on your smart device without needing to open the app, even when the device is locked.

Is there a Dexcom CGM Widget in the Apple Today View?

Without your sensor code, you will need to calibrate twice after your 2-hour sensor warmup is complete, a third time 12 hours later, a fourth time 12 hours after that, and then once every 24 hours.

I lost my sensor code. What do I do?

Your transmitter is covered under a limited warranty for three months, starting from the shipment date. An alert message shows when your transmitter has about one week left. Replace the transmitter as soon as possible when you see the message.

How long does the transmitter last?

Your phone settings can prevent the Dexcom Follow app from working. Learn more about the settings that will allow your app to work as expected.

What are the recommended iPhone settings?

Apple Health is a health and fitness tracking app included on Apple devices (iOS 8+). You can share your glucose data with Apple Health. Health gets the information after a three-hour delay, not in real time.

How do I share my glucose data with the Apple Health app?

You should never close or quit the app. To get your glucose readings, alarm, and alerts or to share with your Followers the app must run in the background.

Will my Dexcom CGM app work if the app is closed?

The Stop Sensor option is not available because the sensor has not been started. When you are in a sensor session, Stop Sensor will be available. Once you have stopped a sensor session, you will have the option to start a new sensor session.

Why is the Stop Sensor option disabled?

By default, the Quick Glance option is on. It shows your CGM information in the notification area and on the lock screen. Swipe down from the top edge of the screen to see your notifications.

Is there a Quick Glance widget?

It is possible to use both a smart device and a receiver to provide CGM data. The smart device system streams data to the Clarity server, where that data is made available for reports after three hours.

Can I use both a receiver and smart device with Dexcom Clarity?

Yes, you get Follow notifications when the app is closed.

Will I receive notifications if the Follow app is closed?

The option to enter calibrations was included to allow a user to manually calibrate the system in case the start-up calibration code is lost.

Does the G6 accept calibrations?

If you use a receiver, you log in to Clarity from a computer, connect your receiver, then follow the Clarity Upload Instructions. The data stored on your receiver will appear instantly.

How does Dexcom Clarity get my data?

A G6 transmitter lasts for three months (same as G5 Mobile).

How long does the Dexcom G6 transmitter last?

Yes, you can check your CGM information on your wrist! The Dexcom CGM App supports Apple Watch and can be used to discreetly view your glucose reading, trend arrow, and trend graph. Use the digital crown to scroll the trend graph view between 1, 3, or 6 hours of data.

Can I view my Dexcom CGM data on an Apple Watch?

The transmitter battery is low and needs to be replaced. When you receive this message, your transmitter may drain as quickly as one week. If you do not already have a transmitter, you need to order a new one.

What does the Transmitter Low Battery alert mean?

For every release, a notification banner is posted at the top of the Dexcom Clarity on the day of the release. Follow the banner&#x27;s link to read the release notes. If the Uploader software is updated, the notification banner posts 2 weeks before the release.

How do I know when Dexcom Clarity has been updated?

Yes, you can check your CGM on your wrist! The Android app supports Android Wear watches to discreetly view your glucose reading, trend arrow, and trend graph.

Can I view my Dexcom CGM data on an Android Wear watch?

Dexcom G6 sensors may be inserted on the abdomen, the back of the upper arm (indicated for patients age 2 years and older) or the upper buttocks (ages 2-17 years). Sensor placement is important and you will want to change your insertion site with each sensor. Using the same site too often might not allow the skin to heal, causing scarring or skin irritation.

Where can I insert my G6 sensor?

Dexcom Share is a feature within the G6 app that allows for remote monitoring. One person, (the Sharer) may share their CGM data with another person (the Follower).

How do I share my G6 glucose data with followers?

Login issues can be caused by having the incorrect country or region selected in your smartphone settings. Within smartphone settings, set the Region (iOS) and Language/Region (Android) to match your Dexcom account then, reinstall the Dexcom Clarity app and try again. Please contact your local Dexcom if you need further assistance.

Why do I see  &#x27;username or password are incorrect&#x27; when I try to log into the Dexcom Clarity app on my smartphone?

When the low utilisation filter is applied, days with less than 50% CGM data capture will display.

What is a low utilisation day?

In Dexcom CLARITY, use the Settings page to customise data display and sharing. Changes only apply to Dexcom CLARITY and do not change any settings on your Dexcom CGM system.

How can I customise Dexcom Clarity?

Turn your smart device sideways. The landscape view lets you see up to the last 24 hours of sensor readings and, if you entered Events, your Event markers.

How do I get a recap of my last 24 hours on my smart device?

The Ambulatory Glucose Profile (AGP) is a licensed, standardised glucose report created by the International Diabetes Center (IDC). AGP provides a big picture view of your diabetes management and is only one part of understanding your glucose patterns.

What is the AGP Report?

Yes, G6 does work with Clarity. Patients will not need to register again.

Will Dexcom Clarity work with G6?

Time in Range is the percentage of time that glucose levels are in low, target and high ranges. Dexcom CLARITY displays time in range from both daytime and nighttime ranges.

How are ranges defined for Time in Range?

If you upload your receiver to the CLARITY home user account, you can share your home user account data with your health care provider. Your clinic will need to give you a sharing invitation via email or printed invitation to initiate sharing.

How can I share my data using a Dexcom Receiver?

Under the Devices section of the Dexcom CLARITY Overview page you will find the alert settings and last upload for the device. These settings are for your reference and are separate from Dexcom CLARITY settings.

Does Dexcom Clarity have information about my receiver or smart device?

Any event that is entered into your CGM will show up on Dexcom CLARITY graphs when your data is updated from your Dexcom Mobile CGM System or you upload your receiver to Clarity.

Will events entered into my CGM receiver show up in Dexcom Clarity?

Daily statistics are calculated values for the individual day of the week over the date range selected. For example, if the date range is for 14 days, all the CGM values collected on the two Mondays would be used in the Monday calculations.

S Health is a health and fitness tracking app for Android devices. You can share your glucose data with S Health. S Health gets the information after a three-hour delay, not in real time.

How do I share my glucose data with the S Health app?

We understand you may be concerned about granting this permission, but Dexcom does not use this permission to track your location.

Why does the G6 Android app ask for Location Permission?

When you start a new sensor, you must enter a code into your display device to use the G6 without fingerstick calibrations.

What is a sensor code and why do I need one?

A variety of iOS and Android smart devices are compatible with G6. Compatibility is listed here: www.dexcom.com/compatibility

What smart devices are compatible with the G6?

What are the recommended G6 iPhone settings?

Dexcom tests all apps on new OS versions, including public betas, after the OS is released. It may take several days or more to complete testing and update the app to be fully compatible with a new OS version. Dexcom recommends checking the compatibility before installing a new OS version on your smart device, and not installing the new version until we approve it.

How soon will Dexcom support new operating system (OS) versions after they are released?

A broadband network connection of 1.5 Mbps or more is required to install the software from the web, upload data or view the online User Guide.

What are the computer and software requirements for Dexcom Clarity?

Yes, you can choose which glucose notifications you receive for each Sharer. Changes to settings in the Follow app do not affect the Sharer&#x27;s CGM settings.

Can I customise notification settings?

Yes, the Follow App works the same way as it did with the Dexcom G5 Mobile.

Does the Follow App work with G6?

There are several reasons you may not receive expected notifications.

No. The Dexcom G6 CGM system is designed to eliminate the need for fingerstick calibrations* and can be used for 10 days without restart.

Can the sensor be restarted after 10 days?

The question marks mean that the transmitter does not understand the sensor readings for the moment. You will want to wait a minimum of 3 hours for them to clear. If they do not clear within that time frame, please contact your local distributor for assistance.

What do the Question Marks (???) mean?

This icon means the transmitter and the sensor are not communicating. Make sure your transmitter is properly stored in the sensor pod. If the icon does not go away within 3 hours, contact your local distributor for assistance.

What does the hour glass icon mean?

The Dexcom G6 sensor is approved to be worn up to 10 days.

How long can I wear the sensor?

Visit Dexcom compatibility to determine if your device is compatible.

What devices and software are compatible with Dexcom apps?

Each year we assess whether to keep supporting older Operating Systems (OS) for Dexcom apps. When an OS you&#x27;re using is no longer supported for your Dexcom app, we will ask you to update your OS to continue getting app updates.

Why am I being asked to update my phone&#x27;s operating system (OS) to continue getting Dexcom app updates?

To use your Dexcom system with a new smart device, you first need to stop your sensor session on your current device. Next, install the Dexcom CGM app on your new smart device.

If I am replacing my smart device, what will I need to do?

Before upgrading your smart device or its operating system, check dexcom.com/compatibility. Automatic updates of the app or your device operating system can change settings or shut down the app. Always update your smart device manually and verify correct device settings afterward.

Will updating my smart device affect how I can use my G6?

Signal loss can occur for a number of reasons. The most common reason is smartphone settings that are hindering the app from functioning correctly.

Why am I receiving signal loss for over an hour on my smart device?

I am having trouble getting started with my Dexcom CGM system - what should I do?

The Signal Loss alert tells you when your receiver or smart device is not communicating. This may occur if you (and the transmitter) are too far from your display device or something is blocking your transmitter signal, causing you not to get sensor glucose readings.

What does the Signal Loss alert mean?

This screen means you recently entered a calibration blood glucose value and the sensor is having trouble calibrating. Follow the directions on the screen to enter a fingerstick reading in 15 minutes to restore readings.
