Dexcom G5 Mobile Continuous Glucose Monitoring System

Monitor your blood glucose on the go with the world’s first mobile continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system.

Know before you’re low
with trending arrows

Trending arrows let you quickly see where your glucose is going and
how fast, so you can take action to avoid highs and lows.

How the Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System works

The industry-leading system is comprised of these components:

Sensor & Transmitter

A small sensor measures glucose levels just underneath the skin, while a transmitter fastened on top of the sensor sends data wirelessly to your compatible smart device or receiver via Bluetooth® technology.

Display Device

Easily check real-time glucose information on a compatible smart device (with the Dexcom G5 Mobile App) or an optional Dexcom Receiver. Your - or your child's - levels are shown in vivid colours so you can easily see when glucose is trending high, low or just right.

Remote glucose monitoring

With the Dexcom G5 Follow App, up to five people can remotely monitor your - or your child's - blood glucose levels and trends on their compatible smart device. Keep an eye on your child's blood glucose levels even if you're at work and your child is at school. Or enjoy more peace of mind when your partner is asleep or away by knowing their levels. (The app requires an Internet connection.)

Active monitoring

Focus more on your day or get a more restful night's sleep knowing your blood glucose is actively monitored without routine fingersticks* or sensor scanning.  With glucose readings updated every 5 minutes, you can see where your levels are at and where they are heading by quickly glancing at your compatible smart device.

Alerts when you need them

With customizable alerts and built-in hypo alarm, you can be alerted when glucose levels are trending low - even overnight - reducing the risk of hypoglycemia.1-2 For additional discretion, the customizable alerts can be set to "vibrate only" or turned off.

Manage your glucose on the go

Blood glucose data is transferred via Bluetooth, an Internet connection is not required (except when sharing data using the Dexcom SHARE feature).

How does the Dexcom G6 differ from the Dexcom G5 Mobile?

Dexcom G6 builds upon the core benefits of the G5 Mobile and brings some new features including the elimination of fingersticks** for calibration, extended sensor wear, a new applicator, and a new Urgent Low Soon alert – to name a few.

**If your glucose alerts and readings from the G6 don’t match symptoms of expectations, use a blood glucose meter to make diabetes treatment decisions.

*If your glucose alerts and readings do not match your symptoms or expectations, or you are taking medications containing acetaminophen, you should perform a fingerstick to confirm your blood glucose level. A minimum of two fingersticks a day are required for calibration.

†The app requires an internet connection.
