Where can I insert my Dexcom G7 sensor?
Dexcom G7 sensors may be inserted on the back of the upper arm (ages 2 years and older) or the upper buttocks (ages 2-6 years old).
Dexcom G7 15 Day sensors may be inserted on the back of the upper arm (ages 18 years and older).
Our research shows that back of the upper arm wear results in optimal performance1. Sensor placement is important, and you should change your insertion site with each sensor. Using the same site too often might not allow the skin to heal, causing scarring or skin irritation.
Be sure to use the overpatch included with your G7 sensor; this will help ensure your sensor will remain in place for the duration of the wear session.
Follow the insertion instructions carefully. Extra care may help you keep your sensor on for the entire sensor session.
