Discover how recent improvements to G7 event logging, including Automated Activity Logging and New Medication Logging, can help connect the dots between lifestyle choices and your glucose monitoring log.

What is event logging and why is it helpful for glucose monitoring

Beyond the glucose level, trend arrow, and trend graph that show where your glucose is, where it’s heading and where
you’ve been, the Dexcom G7 App is full of other helpful features and capabilities that can help you get even more out of
your CGM experience.
For example, there is a whole host of CGM alerts that can help you spend more time in range1-5 and warn you in advance of dangerous lows (check out our article series on Alerts here). You can also use the Share and Follow* features to share your numbers with your loved ones and care team. But did you know you can also track lifestyle “events”?
In the History tab of the Dexcom G7 app, you can track several key “events” that happen throughout your day, including insulin doses, meals, activity, BG meter values, and medications.† You can even add short notes — in text and emojis — about other things that might affect your glucose.
As part of the recent G7 App 2.2 update, Dexcom made several key improvements to event logging to both expand the types of events you can log and make it easier to log those events.

Logging events can be another helpful tool
when using Dexcom G7 to manage diabetes.

Automated activity, simplified meal and new medication logging connects the dots between your activity, food, and medications and your glucose in real-time, which can help empower easier decisions and lead to better glucose control.
