  • A list of the Apple Operating Systems (iOS) and Android Operating Systems compatible with each Dexcom app are available at dexcom.com/compatibility

    Dexcom limits the compatibility of new Dexcom app updates with old versions of Apple Operating Systems (iOS) and Android Operating Systems. At a minimum, Dexcom intends on supporting the current major OS version, plus the previous version for each platform. New OS versions often include privacy and security improvements and additional phone features that can offer users a better experience.

    To help ensure that you have the best experience with your Dexcom apps, we recommend following these guidelines:

    • Check the Dexcom compatibility chart before installing a new iOS or Android OS version on your smart device. Dexcom tests all its apps on new OS versions after the OS is released. It may take several days or more to complete testing and, if necessary, update the Dexcom app to be fully compatible with a new OS version. We recommend waiting on installing a new OS version until we approve it, because your Dexcom app may not work properly upon the initial release.
    • Before updating to a new version of a Dexcom app, ensure that your smart device is running on the latest supported OS. Some new app features may only be available with the latest OS. OS requirements will always be noted in the App Store and in the “What’s New” content within the app.
    • Finally, don’t forget to check the compatibility chart before purchasing a new smart device to use with your Dexcom apps.

  • Dexcom tests all apps on new OS versions, including public betas, after the OS is released. It may take several days or more to complete testing and update the app to be fully compatible with a new OS version. Dexcom recommends checking our compatibility chart before installing a new OS version on your smart device, and not installing the new version until we approve it.

  • Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System users can invite up to five followers to remotely monitor their glucose information and receive alert notifications from almost anywhere using the Dexcom Follow App. The Dexcom Follow App is available as a free download through the Google Play store and the Apple® App Store and to the Apple Watch through the Apple Watch Store.

  • If you obtain a new smart device, you will have to reinstall the Follow app. Information on installation can be found in the quick start user’s guide. Once installed, your sharer’s glucose history and trends will show up on your new device.

  • If you receive an indication from the Dexcom Follow app that push notifications are disabled, Dexcom Share does not have the ability to send you notifications. Go to Notifications in the app settings and find the Dexcom Follow app. Turn the notification center on and set the alert style to Banners or Alerts. Set the sounds to on and set view in lock screen to on.

  • If you are not receiving notifications, one of the following may be the issue:

    • Ensure your low, urgent low or high notifications are turned on.
    • Check the delay setting for the notifications. If the delay is a value other than 0, you must be below (or above) the threshold for that amount of time before a notification is sent.
    • Your Sharer may not be sharing their glucose.
    • You may have chosen to disable all Dexcom Follow notifications.
    • You may have chosen to turn off notifications.
    • You may have an issue with an internet connection.
    • Dexcom SHARE server may be down.
