• Can I customize notification settings?

  Yes, you can choose which glucose notifications you receive for each Sharer. Changes to settings in the Follow app don’t affect the Sharer’s CGM settings.

  • If Sharer is sharing their trend graph, go to their graph and then tap the gear icon.
  • If Sharer isn’t sharing their graph, tap them in the list to change their notification settings.

  The Sharer decides if you can view their trend graph or not.

• How can I see the last 24 hours of my Sharer’s glucose readings?

  See up to the past 24 hours of your Sharer’s glucose readings by turning your smart device sideways. Touch the graph to see details.

  Your smart device settings must allow screen rotation.

• Will I receive notifications if the Follow app is closed?

  Yes, you’ll still receive Follow notifications.

  No. Your Follow notifications will only vibrate.

• Why am I not receiving glucose notifications?

  There are several reasons you may not receive expected notifications.

  In your Follow app:

  Check your Sharer’s glucose notifications. Turn on the ones you want.

  Check each notification’s delay setting. If a delay is set, you’re only notified if the condition lasts longer than the delay.

  Check your Sharer’s status. If you see No Data, Disconnected, Not Sharing, or Removed by Sharer you won’t receive notifications. Ask your Sharer if you have questions.

  Other issues:

  • Check that you have an Internet connection.
  • Check your smart device settings.
  • Open settings, then notifications. Find Follow in the app list and turn on notifications.
  • Dexcom’s server may be down.

• What should I do if Follow says notifications are off?

  Allow notifications from Follow in your smart device settings.

  1. Go to your smart device settings.

  2. Go to notifications.

  3. Find Follow in the app list and turn on notifications.

  Allowing notifications to show on your lock screen and keeping your volume loud help ensure you don’t miss notifications.

  Check Dexcom’s compatibility chart before updating your smart device or mobile operating system (OS). Dexcom tests its apps for compatibility on new OS versions after they’re released.

• What’s Dexcom Follow?

  Remotely monitor a Dexcom CGM user’s glucose with the Dexcom Follow app.

  • Once a Sharer’s invitation is accepted, the Follower can see:
  • Sharer’s glucose reading
  • Sharer’s trend arrow showing their glucose speed and direction Glucose notifications of changes, like a Low or High

• How many people can view the information from the Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System?

  Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System users can invite up to five followers to remotely monitor their glucose information and receive alert notifications from almost anywhere using the Dexcom Follow App. The Dexcom Follow App is available as a free download through the Google Play store and the Apple® App Store and to the Apple Watch through the Apple Watch Store.

• If I am replacing my smart device, what will I need to do?

  If you obtain a new smart device, you will have to reinstall the Follow app. Information on installation can be found in the quick start user’s guide. Once installed, your sharer’s glucose history and trends will show up on your new device.

• What devices and software are compatible with the Dexcom CGM apps?

  ^{We recommend checking the Dexcom compatibility chart before installing a new iOS or Android OS version on your smart device and before acquiring a new phone for use with your Dexcom system. If you use a smart device or OS version that isn’t listed in the compatibility matrix, your Dexcom app may not work properly and you risk missing alerts and alarms and/or not seeing your CGM data. Dexcom tests all its apps on new OS versions and devices after they are released. It may take several days or more to complete testing and, if necessary, update the Dexcom app to be fully compatible with a new OS version or new phone.}
